saturday night's alright

so i had a great memorial day weekend overall.
josh came down friday night.
my cousin and her 3 friends came down saturday morning.
those 4 headed off to the yankees game.
me josh dad and joey put the boat in the water.
then josh and i went and met up with the 4 girls in nyc.

saturday night:
- went to jekyll and hyde's. [good food. funny times. not worth the price. apparently they take the liberty of charging you $12 for 'entertainment fees'. jerks.]
- walked around the village. [saw some shady characters. walked in circles cause apparently jerome couldn't remember where the street was we were meeting people on.]
- went to a bar in the village. [ended up sitting next to a table full of british boys. we ended up playing drinking games with guys from london in nyc. quite hilarious.]
- took the train home. [after meeting a sketchy guy in the subway who really liked amy. and then falling asleep on the train and being woken up at 3am by drunk loud girls that we wanted to kick in the teeth.]
- got back to my house at 3:30am. [the girls passed out on the couch.]

sunday:
- the 4 girls went back to the city. [they're crazy! it was so damned hot out.]
- me josh joey and dad went back to the boat. [oh. the trailer for the boat had a wheel seize so we had to go back and fix it... plus take the boat out for another spin.]
- came home. [cooked lots and lots of food.]
- took at nap.
- had a bbq at my house that we just kept inviting people over for. [we fed 17 people. and i ended up playing bar tender for half the night making pina coladas.]
- us girls passed out again on the couch. [danielle and i stayed up and watched e! true hollywood story about american idol first.]
- joey and love stayed up till 2am playing with the fire pit in the backyard. [crazy kids.]
- 11 people slept in my house.

monday:
- woke up at 9am. [finished wedding invitations. took me about an hour.]
- had breakfast. [11 people around my kitchen table. its fine for maye 8... 11 is really tight.]
- hung out around the house.
- josh left at noon. [*sniff*]
- the rest of us [sans joey and love] went out on the boat. [yay for sunburn!!]
- came home. [ate lots of food.]
- the girls left.
- me mom and dad watched 'desperation' by stephen king. [creeeeeeeepy.]
- mom and i caught up on 'lost'.

THE END.

oy. crazy weekend.
but really good.
:c)

i need like a week to catch up on sleep.
but i have a 3 day work week.
cause friday i'm driving to buffalo for my first shower!

How sweet it is...

to be loved by Josh.

So I had my wonderful trip up to Canada this weekend. We had a wedding to go to, which, of course, coincided with Canada's Victoria Day weekend. So I took Monday off and enjoyed the weekend with Josh [and wedding planning].

But on Friday, I had to wait until around 7 to leave my house in Jersey to get up there. Well I didn't have to. I chose to. My brother's senior prom was on Friday and I didn't feel right not seeing him and his date off. [Sidenote: My brother decided to wear a white tux to prom. With a peach vest and peach tie because his date was wearing a peach dress. How come guys I went to high school with weren't that daring?] Anyway. So by the time I got up to St Catharines it was about... hm... 12:45. I wanted to go straight to bed. But Josh wouldn't let me. He had a surprise.

Now. Some of you know, most of you don't, that I love stars. One of my dreams is to dance under the stars. Like, slow dance in the middle of a field with music playing. Like in the movies.

Well Josh knows this.

And so I get into the apartment and he forces me into the bedroom because he needs to get something ready in the living room. So I wait... and he comes in and hands me a CD that is titled Dance Under the Stars with Me Vol. 1. So I giggle and get all excited. He takes my hand and leads me into the other room. And I stop.

He had taken a ton of glow in the dark stars. Put holes in some of them. He hung those ones from the ceiling and the fan. And then took the rest, put them all over the walls and the doors.

So he asked me to dance.

And we danced.

Check that off the list of things I want to do before I die.

Man. I love him.

engrish

So I usually hate it when people butcher the English language. It comes with being an English major, I guess. The only exception to that is when I find [or read] Engrish.

Take my fortune from a fortune cookie today:
Wow! A secret message from your teeth!

Whaaaaa?
It doesn't make any sense.
But I find it hilarious.

I wonder what my teeth want to tell me.

new..

format.
:c)
Tthis is what happens when I get bored at work.

Anyone have any clue as to why in IE the sidebar is messed up, but in Firefox it looks fine?

I know the colors of my old posts are too light.
When I get uber bored [and my boss isn't around] I'll go fix them.
Till then, squint, or highlight.
Sowie!!!

Give me a topic to discuss.
Something interesting... or not.

boredom ensues

Here I am. At work.
This is one of the only sites that I can actually access because apparently GE doesn't want their employees messing around on the internet [or something like that]. So I figured I'd actually write something.

Wedding planning is going quite well. I can't believe its almost 2 months until the wedding. I'll be a married woman soon. What the heck? When did I get old enough to get married? Sometimes I feel like I'm a 18 year old who has suddenly woken up at the age of 21. Life has gone by so fast these past few years. I wish there was a way to make it slow down.
We ordered invitations this weekend. I have to get ahold of people and gather their addresses so they can get the invitiations. *sigh*
We're trying to figure out center pieces and favors. We found things we like, but the centerpieces we like are really expensive. But we might just have to settle because I've looked into doing them ourselves and they're more expensive to buy all the stuff and do it that way.
My girls dresses come in next month. That'll be wonderful because I'll have more of an idea of what the day is actually going to look like. Hopefully that will be enough time for all of the girls get them fitted. I'm only really worried about Michelle because she's in England. We'll figure that out when it comes.

This summer is crazy. I have stuff going on every weekend until the wedding, and pretty much every weekend afterwards. I have a wedding to go to this weekend in St. Kitts. Then the weekend after, Josh is down in Jersey along with my cousin and her three friends. Then the first three weekends in June are all shower weekends. June 3 - Buffalo, June 10 - Jersey, June 17 - London, ON. Yeah. Craziness. Then Joey's graduation from high school is the next weekend. Then we have 4th of July/Canada Day weekend. Then my birthday weekend. The next weekend we head up to St Kitts as a family to stay for the week before the wedding. Then I get MARRIED! After that, honeymoon for two weeks. Come back. A week in St Kitts in our apartment, then heading to Jersey for the second reception. Then camping either the next weekend or the one after that. And suddenly we're into the school year.

*sigh*

I don't think I've ever been so busy in my life.

I probably should go get some work done so I have something to show my boss on Wednesday when he's back.

so some of you know about my neighbor.
cookie.
she was diagnosed with als [lou gherig's disease] earlier this year.
if you don't know anything about the disease.
its fatal.
basically you lose neurological functions until you become paralyzed and you can't breathe on your own anymore.
yeah. lovely. isn't it?

well i hadn't seen cookie until today.
dad and i were going out to do some errands and we saw her and her husband [roy].

oh my goodness.
all i wanted to do is cry.

i can't even describe how it affected me.
there aren't words.

she has lost all ability to speak.
but her heart is still there.
oh god yes it is.

this woman is so amazing.
she has such a love for people.
i love her so much.

she told me how she loves my father.
and she told me that one day i'll have a relationship like her and her husband.
and take fun pictures [she showed me pictures they had taken].
and then she told me...
get this...
wisest advice in the world.

she told me...
to...
make love last.

how amazing is that advice?
seriously.
so simple.
and so true.

i can't get over it.

but this poor woman and her husband.
i can't figure it out.
why?
why do they have to suffer?
i can't even imagine going through that.
she's so strong.
she's so amazing.
why?
